Hanne Boel was born the 31st August 1957 in Copenhagen (Denmark).
In 1980 she qualified as state-tested music teacher from The Royal Danish Conservatory of Music and Studied at The Berkeley School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. In the years 81 to 86 she was member of the jazz/rock band "Blast".
The same year as she toured as backing singer for Sanne Salomonsen and Kasper Winding, she released first solo album "Black Wolf" (1988).
In 1994 she performed for Pope Johannes Paul II and nearly half a million people in Italy.
Since her debut she has released over 10 albums, and in 2000 formed an collaboration with Martin Hall and released the duo album "Boel & Hall".
