Genre: Death Metal Band Members: Bronislav "Bruno" Kovařík Bass, Vocals (1999-present), Guitars (2010-present) Petr "Pegas" Hlavac Drums (1999-present) Igor Hubík Guitars (2004-present) Czech death metal band HYPNOS was founded at fall of 1999 year by BRUNO (bass, guitar, vocals), right after he left well-known Krabathor, as being one of the bands main men. The second founding member is drummer PEGAS, known especially for his great drumming on Krabathor “LIES” album from 1995 year. HYPNOS has begun to be one of the leading death metal acts from Czech/Slovakia and attacked European stages immediately. Up to this date, HYPNOS released 3 full length CDs - “In Blood We Trust” 2000, “The Revenge Ride” 2001 and “Rabble Manifesto”, 2005 (Last 2 of them produced by Harris JOHNS - SODOM, TANKARD, PESTILENCE, KREATOR, HELLOWEEN, CORONER, VOIVOD, IMMOLATION) and performed more than 250 shows all over Europe with bands like VADER, PUNGENT STENCH, IMMOLATION, MACABRE, MALEVOLENT CREATION, OBSCENITY, HAEMORRHAGE etc. The most important event was European tour called NO MERCY FESTIVALS, together with MORBID ANGEL, ENSLAVED, THE CROWN, DYING FETUS and BEHEMOTH, back in 2000 year. In January 2006, after the Eurotour with CENTINEX and PURGATORY, HYPNOS interrupted activities for a non specified period. In 2009 year, BRUNO and PEGAS started practising again, in order to prepare new material for the MCD “Halfway To Hell”, released in July 2010 via the Czech based label CRYSTAL PRODUCTIONS. Joined by guitarist IGORR (bassist of ROOT), band played comeback show at famous Czech BRUTAL ASSAULT festival in Jaromer at August 2010 (featuring bands like Cannibal Corpse, Hypocrisy, Ihsahn, Napalm Death, Fear Factory etc.) and got really terrific response in front of 13 000 people. At fall of 2011 year, band signed deal with German record label EINHEIT PRODUKTIONEN for new album “HERETIC COMMANDO / RISE OF THE NEW ANTIKRIST” which was recorded with Norwegian engineer Børge FINSTAD (MAYHEM, IHSAHN, ARCTURUS) and released in April 2012, right after CZ/SK tour with grind core squad NAPALM DEATH.
