Consecration is a Death Doom Metal band from Norwich, UK. Daniel Bollans - Vocals Shane Amies - Bass Jordan Grant - Guitars Liam Houseago - Guitars Robbie Spencer - Drums Former Members: Chilli Williams – Guitars Lee Tuddenham – Drums Consecration was founded in May 2010 by Shane and Daniel & Chilli. Very soon after the initial discussions Lee and Jordan were added, and the initial line-up was complete. Rehearsals started immediately, and after only a short period we recorded two demos on a four track. These gathered a lot of interest and excellent feedback, despite the low quality production. We then entered Tides Reach Studio in September 2010 to record our debut EP. Entitled ‘Gut The Priest’, it is an entirely self-released effort, comprising 6 tracks with a running time of over 32 minutes. This has had excellent feedback, including: 4/5 in Zero Tolerance * 8/10 on Destructive Music * 7/10 on Doommantia.com * 3.5/5 on Metal Rules.com We also had great reviews from Pagan Hell & Doom Metal.com. We produced a number of T-shirt designs in limited runs to promote the release, which sold out very quickly. In December 2010, Chilli left the band to concentrate on his other efforts, and Liam joined on second guitar. We produced our debut promo video, filmed & produced entirely by ourselves for the track ‘Gut The Priest’ in May 2011. This contains tracks taken from our debut EP ‘Gut The Priest’, our self produced video for ‘Gut The Priest’, teaser tracks of 4 new songs, promo and live photos, artwork, and a video biography. 2012 was spent writing new material and playing a number of select live shows. At the beginning of 2013, we parted company with Lee as our drummer. Robbie replaced him behind the drum kit, and has added a brutal new dimension to our sound. We spent the first quarter of 2013 updating our material and writing new tracks. Our new material live has been received with even more praise than ever before. During March 2013, we had the privilege to be included on the ‘Metal Carnage I’ compilation, showcasing some great UK underground metal acts. This was produced and available via Abyssus Records and was advertised in Terrorizer magazine. We have self-produced and released a demo EP from practice sessions entitled ‘Echoes Of The Dead’. This was released in July 2013, and showcased our new line-up, with 3 brand new songs, alongside a reworking of a previously unreleased track. We were honored to support Esoteric at the Asylum II Birmingham in November 2013, a highlight gig for us supporting a band we respect and admire. We entered HVR Studios between November 2013 & February 2014 to record our debut full length album. We are honored to have signed to UKEM Records in August 2014 ‘Ephemerality’ – our debut full length album is due for full release on UKEM Records early 2015 We have had numerous gigs locally and across the country, such as London, Newcastle, Birmingham & Bristol. We have supported Desecration, Denounce, Ancient Ascendant, Merciless Terror, Decrepid & De Profundis to name a few. Our live shows have consistently been praised. We were accepted into the heats for metal to the masses, to play Bloodstock 2011 & 2012. Con-se-cra-tion: verb transitive.
