Coucou is an unusual trio. With two voices, a guitar and a suitcase full of small instruments, the three women from Berlin and Leipzig create a very unique sound - somewhere between pop, jazz and folk. The music that is created is idiosyncratic, subtle and sometimes seems almost fragile. Their songs tell of personal moments and create an intimate atmosphere in which the listener is sucked literally. In their arrangements to acoustic elements combine with the electric sounds of the guitar. Powerful riffs, loops and dense sound clouds lay the foundation of the two voices and their melancholic-beautiful melodies. On 12 February 2016, the debut album "Paperskin" appears at KICK THE FLAME (Leipzig). The namesake of the first album is a song, which also serves as a kind of metaphor for the sound of the trio. Paperskin tells the story of a boy who is so sensitive that one thinks that his skin was made of paper. This sensitivity and transparency carries the listener through all 11 songs on the record. This year, the 3 women will be traveling on release tour throughout Germany.
